Palawan island, in the Philippines, has become an increasingly popular beach and snorkelling destination over recent years. Although relatively difficult to access as it required a 4 hour trip by minivan from the island’s main airport, El Nido is one of the highlights of this region and where we spent most of our one-week trip.
We stayed on the small island of Miniloc: a perfect location from which to explore the main attractions around Bacuit Bay, including the Big and Small Lagoons and Snake Island. The resort also has its own reef with many different marine species including the 1.5 meter jack fish.
Highlights for the trip included being part of a small group at the usually very crowded small lagoon at sunrise, the excursion to Entalula island and it’s amazing private beach and of course the various snorkelling excursions.
