ROME
After our wedding, we made our way to Rome, arriving just in time for a summer heatwave to blanket Central Europe. Staying cool became our primary goal—shade and air conditioning were our best friends, and of course, we made sure to keep our gelato intake high. It was practically a necessity.
Wandering through Rome’s legendary landmarks—the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain—felt like stepping into the pages of a history book. But with the added twist of the sun acting as the world’s most persistent tour guide.

With around 10 million visitors each year, Rome’s crowds added an extra layer of ‘adventure’ to our sightseeing—especially at the often-packed Vatican.

The Colosseum, on the other hand, offered a completely different vibe. With a cap of just 3,000 visitors, it felt like a VIP tour.

Then there was Via Margutta, just off Piazza del Popolo—a peaceful escape from the city's hustle. With its art galleries, cozy cafés, and charming workshops, it offered a quiet corner of Roman life. In the midst of the Eternal City’s bustle, it was our little retreat of calm.
